Updates to the 2020 Ford Escape

The fully redesigned 2020 model starts the car’s fourth generation. There are five trim levels: the S, SE, SE Sport, SEL, and Titanium, so you have options depending on how much you want to spend. The hybrid version of the Ford Escape is again offered in 2020, in addition to a new plug-in hybrid version called the Ford Escape PHEV.

The new base-level engine is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder that puts out 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque, moving up to a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that puts out 250 horsepower.

There’s also more interior space in the 2020 Ford Escape, giving passengers in the second row 40.7 inches of legroom and a maximum 65.4 cubic feet of cargo space. Another update is the 8-inch freestanding touchscreen that controls the infotainment system. Safety features include automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, a rearview camera, and more, as part of the Ford Co-Pilot360® system.
